Arthritis, arthritis

Articulation(osteoarthritis) is a dystrophic disease of the joints associated with slow degeneration and destruction of intra-articular cartilage. Over time, there is restructuring of the articular ends of the bones, inflammation and degeneration of the periarticular tissues. The concept of "arthropathy" (deforming osteoarthritis) includes a group of diseases of the joints of a degenerative-inflammatory nature, which have different origins and similar mechanisms.

Causes

Primary arthritis with a background of age and / or industrial changes. Secondarily, it occurs after injury, in the context of diabetes or thyroid, due to vascular disorders, etc. It contributes to the damage of the joints of the feet and the development of arthritis of the soles, which violates the absorption functions of the foot. Timely application of specially selected orthopedic insoles allows you to correct the deformity of the foot and reduce the pressure on the joints.

Arthritis is the most common joint disease and its incidence increases with age. But this disease occurs not only in the elderly, which determines its social significance.

Symptoms:

  • pain during exercise, subsides at rest.
  • restriction of mobility and crease in the joint.
  • muscle tension in the joint area.
  • possible periodic appearance of swelling, gradual deformation of the joint.

Primary arthritis - 40-50% of arthritis cases. The disease develops in a previously healthy joint and its cause is not damage to the joint, but, for example, hard physical work.

Secondary arthritis - 50-60% of cases. The joint, prone to arthritis, deformed even before the illness - for example, as a result of an injury.

Which joints are affected by arthropathy?

Most often arthritis develops in the joints of the lower half of the body (hip, knee, first metatarsophalangeal). In the hands, the joints of the phalanges of the fingers are more often exposed to arthritis. Osteoarthritis usually appears first in one joint and then in the second - symmetrical with the first.

Coxarthrosis

normal joint and damaged joint

Coxarthrosis(arthropathy of the hip joint) is characterized by a progressive course and disturbance of the statodynamic function of the musculoskeletal system. It occupies one of the first places among the degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the musculoskeletal system. The dystrophic process begins with the articular cartilage - its thinning, disintegration, fragmentation and absorption properties are lost. As a compensatory reaction of the articular surfaces of the hip joint, marginal bone growths are formed. In the future, sclerosis develops and cysts form in the articular parts of the femoral head and acetabulum.

Knee joint

healthy joint and joint wound

Knee jointarthritis of the knee joint) holds the leading position in the group of arthritic lesions of the limb joints. Patients with knee arthritis are constantly prevalent among patients attending polyclinics, but, unfortunately, they are few among those who are treated in our hospitals. Inpatient treatment could have a much greater effect than outpatient treatment. Known to doctors for over 100 years, this disease in everyday life is called "salt deposition".
